Old Luckenbach Homeplace

Here is an updated version of this painting. When I looked at my posting, the colors looked so dull. I realized I hadn't edited the colors to represent the painting the way it really looks. This is a lot closer but not perfect.

Looking Down Heritage Lane

I painted this on an 8 x 10 panel and now think I try the same picture on a 16 x 20. And when I do, I will add a woman walking a dog, because this is where I walk Coco on nice days. We live just off this dirt road.

Collages

Instead of painting the last few days, I have been working on these collages for my 6 year old twin granddaughters, Sophie and Elizabeth (aka Little Miss Sunshine and Sweet Pea). I got them finished just in time to take with us to Dallas where we will spend Christmas with the little cuties. Actually I fear they would rather have a stuffed animal, but these are something I have wanted to do for a while. Jack is after me to get packed up and on the road at this moment but I wanted to post them before we left. Merry Christmas.

Sampler of Fall Colors

I pass this scene every day on my way into Fredericksburg from our place. The trees on the left change with the seasons. They are bare now, but go through so many colors from spring to fall. I like to paint them often. I wish I could take my portable easel out to try then en plein air, but I would have to either stand on the road or in some tall grasses. And who knows what might be in the tall grasses!

Early Fall at Tierra Linda

A month ago I took a workshop from Ian Roberts. This is one I started en plein air and then embellished back in my studio. The fall colors were really just starting. I wish I could go back and paint it again today because the colors would be much different.

Little Red Barn in Sandwich

About two years ago we were passing through Sandwich, Massachusetts on our way to The Cape and I happened to see this as we were whizzing by. I made Jack turn around and go back so I could take a photo of it. The sun was really hitting the front of the barn. I just got around to painting it.

Just Up The Road

This group of trees was budding out this spring when I painted this. I still don't know what kind of trees they are. But I thought the bare branches were very interesting. I continue to struggle with getting good photos of my paintings. I cannot get rid of the grainy look.
