True Blue

Yet another bluebonnet painting! They were everywhere this past spring. Actually, I am not particularly fond of most traditional bluebonnet paintings because I think many of them tend to get too "dotty" with lots and lots of blue and white dots. So maybe this doesn't even look like bluebonnets. But it is the way I saw it without my glasses!

Red Boat and Red Barn

I posted this painting (or a version of it) last week. When I looked it on the blogsite, it bore little resemblance to the actual work. I so took it down and tried photographing it in many different places and lights. I hope this looks better than the last attempt. I did make a few changes to it also. It is from a photograph I took several weeks ago when we were on a canal cruise in Copenhagen.

Colorful Field in Spring

I painted this several months ago but just got it photographed. Actually, I have tried to photograph it many times, but I haven't been pleased with the outcomes. I still do not have the process perfected and would welcome any hints you might have.

Blue River

I did this in late April when the bluebonnets were in full bloom. People who have lived here forever say it was the best in 50 years. The ranch where this was painted was absolutely covered in bluebonnets. It was spectacular!!!

My son in law had a birthday in July and since he is a hard to buy for guy, I painted him this picture of his beloved Rhodesian Ridgeback, Jake. I think he is pleased.

This is a place just down the road from us. It was a beautiful morning when I painted out with a few friends.
